Using Renewable energy

Advantages of Using Renewable or Alternatives Energy

Using Renewable energy gives us lots of advantages in our power grid and reduces green house effects. This energy system gain energy from existing flows of energy or from on-going natural processes. Such as sunshine, wind, water wave, biological processes, and geothermal heat flows. Renewable energy mostly referred to as clean energy, comes from natural sources or processes that are constantly replenished. Advantages of renewable energy are countless, in this article we are going to cover the advantages and what is renewable energy. You can read more about Sustainable Energy and Waste to Energy.

Advantages of Using Renewable energy

The definition of renewable energy is ‘A form of energy resource that is replaced rapidly by a natural process’ for an example power generated from the sun or from the wind. Directly or indirectly most of the renewable forms of energy come from the Sun, other than geothermal and tidal power. For example sunlight keeps shining or wind keep blowing, even if their availability depends on time and weather.

  • Diversify Energy Supply: Reducing our dependence on Non-renewable energy. For example Hydro-power is a great source of domestically produced power that generates power directly to the supply grid. The same goes for solar, wind and geothermal energy. A National Geographic research shows, the geothermal energy resources from underground steam and hot water can be tapped to generate electricity or to heat and cool buildings,” which means geothermal energy can be accessed all season or all year long. Geothermal both renewable and reliable, also diversify our energy supply.
  • Provide Energy independence: For climate change, extreme weather has become a fact of human life. It’s getting hotter in the summer and getting colder in the winter in many parts of the worlds. For reason that, we are using our power sources to keep it balance, example; heating up in the cold months and using more air conditioning to keep the temperature way down in the summer. Due to that, its leads to the necessity of brownouts or unnecessary blackouts and load shedding.
One of the coolest things about having your own renewable energy source or alternatives energy sources is that you’re independent of neighbors or the utility company. This means everyone else could be experiencing a brownout or blackout in the summertime while you’re using the power of the sun to keep cool. Solar Panels solar energy is a renewable energy source, you can install anywhere for home or anything
  • Reduced Green-house Gas Emissions: The alternative energy sources, from solar and wind energy to hydroelectricity, biomass energy offer a way to power homes, vehicles or businesses without using fossil fuels or non-renewable energy. Because of that renewable and green energy sources can help to reduce the amount of greenhouse gas emissions we put into the air every day. Wind power and solar power are the best source; they use the power of natural sources like wind or the sun to generate electricity. This electricity is generally stored in batteries and can be distributed like traditional utility electricity services. Also Hydroelectricity works in much the same way, by using a natural power source in this case, water to generate power. Which means they are 100% green.
  • Public health Improvements: A research on the Clean Energy and Climate Change by the Office of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency found that all Americans spend an estimated $361.7 to $886.5 billion each year on health for conditions, which related to the use of fossil fuels. Such health conditions include cancer, neurological problems, heart disease and more. It proves that if we use renewable or green energy more, then we’ll all reap the health benefits. One of the most renewable and green energy source is Biomass. Biomass uses agricultural or food waste. Vegetable oil is a great source of biomass energy, as well as corn and soybeans can power vehicles that would otherwise run on fossil fuels.
  • Saving money: Making big or domestic renewable energy plants is require big investments, But once the initial cost of construction and setup is covered, it can quite quickly begin to pay for itself. Some sources allow you to save money quicker than others sources. Solar and wind, for example, requires a large investment firstly, so the payoff is delayed when compared to other sources.
  • Create jobs opportunity: Renewable energy creates more jobs than other sources, because it tends to be more labor-intensive than fossil fuel sources of energy. In fact according to the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) thousands of people already work for companies connected with renewable energy. This mean it includes people who work for utility companies as well as those who work for companies that already produce parts for utilities, like wind turbines or solar panels. The UCS conducted an analysis in 2009 centered on an ideal of 25 percent of our energy coming from renewable sources by 2020. 202,000 amounts new jobs would be needed to support this infrastructure by that time.

The benefits of renewable energy are the way to help us all live better, healthier lives now and in future.
